The large Bass weighs six pounds. Mr. and Mrs. H. O. Wynne and children and Mr. and Mrs. N. E. O'Quinn spent the Fourth in Charleston. Mrs. Russell has returned to Colleton after an extended visit in North Carolina. Mr. R. W. Adams, post master "nd pay roll clerk, and Mr. H. W. Varn, attended the Post Masters' Convention in Charleston. Mr. Adams, of course, could not return without enjoying a dip in the surf at Folly Beach. Mr. John Troutman and family of Berwyn, Pennsylvania, visited the family of Mr. Troutman's brother, Mr. E. H. Troutman, recently. The Misses Linder of Mt. Carmel, were recent guests of Mr. and Mrs. W. V. Carlton. A number of the Colleton folks enjoyed the Farm & Health picnic given at Padgett's Swimming Pool at Ruffin. Miss Ruby Weeks has returned from a very pleasant visit with Miss Alma Givens of Varnville. Mr. C. M. Brabham celebrated his fifty-eighth birthday on July 12th. A large party of friends and relatives participated in the celebration. Messrs. Geo. and Frank Russell of New Bern, North Carolina, were called to the bedside of their sister, Mrs. C. N. Wynne. We are glad to report that Mrs. Wynne has rapidly improved. Mrs. R. B. Ramsey, who has been seriously ill, is slowly improving; also we are glad to report that Mrs. Dewey Carter is able to be out again. Miss Alice Carlton and: Miss Lucile Adams have returned from a trip to Alabama. Mr. C. J. Brass has returned from his vacation spent with his mother in Muncy, Pennsylvania. Mrs. H. M. Carter and sons, Holland and Edwin, spent several weeks at Lake Junaluska. Dr. Carter accompanied them, staying over for the Fourth. Mr. and Mrs. J. B. Sanders and family attended a picnic the Fourth of July at Island. Mrs. J. 0. Weeks and children recently spent a few days in Charleston. Wood Superintendent and Key Men at the Colleton Operation (Illustrated on pages 10 and 11) Mr. J. 0. Weeks was born at Havelock, N. C, April 10, 1884. He attended public school at that place. He came to work with the Colleton Cypress Company in May, 1906, as Foreman of Lath and Shingle Mill. For several years he was Log Scaler and Filer and in 1918 was promoted to Woods Superintendent. Mr. J. C. Godwin was born at Havelock, N. C, Feb. 22, 1892. He attended public school at that place. He worked for Clark, Hammer Fourteen Lumber Company for two years; was in the world war for two years, and after the war came with the Colleton Cypress Company as Filer and Scaler, in 1919. He is at present Filer and Assistant Woods Superintendent. Mr. St. C. Rhoad was born at Bamberg, S. C, Feb. 23, 1897. He received his education and graduated from Clemson College, went to work with the Southern R. R. as Civil Engineer; was in the world war. In 1923 he came with the Colleton Cypress Company as Payroll man and Store Manager at the camps, his present, position. Mr. Arthur Blocker was born at Jacksonboro, S. C, in May, 1889. He was reared on a farm and received his education in the public schools. He came with the Colleton Cypress Company as Cart Logging Foreman in 1920, which position he now holds.
