In this letter of January 7, 1937, Laura Kephart writes to her son Leonard Kephart to wish him a happy birthday. She lets him know that she has gone to his sister Lucy’s house. She shares the news that Mrs. Brashear has died suddenly and all the bad luck that Mrs. Brashear’s son Jack and his wife have had in the past month. She tells him about her Christmas and that his letter to her made her proud. She informs him that his sister Margaret has taken a new job and is now working for the state at a T. B. clinic. She gives him Margaret’s new location and phone number.
