Dear Mr. Kephart:- Doubtless yon will recall that I wrote you last Spring concerning my outfit for Autumn back-packing which you criticized for me; also that I forwarded to you sketches to accompany an article which you kindly offered to write for Field and Stream. Have you any idea when this article will be published? I have been wondering if the sketches were drawn at too small a scale for reproduction? Enclosed is a sample of 0. D. Zephyr Cloth, sold by the Tate Electro Waterproofing Corporation, which i am thinking of using in preference to Tanalite for my new sleeping bag (see sketch). 24" X—r, Hood flap.-> 21-9-- Inner bag of |. | As s trail all _ Wo. pi 29" IBatts covered 6 I with sateen ^o— ■»■ —o a-—i -, „.Jk=gJ 6'_2" Pillow Bag Ji IzizzTzz Side View Browse pocket* to hold mattress and to use on hard trips when weight is to be considered. 2 lbs. of Kapok for mattress with 0. • In a letter to Horace Kephart on November 25, 1918, Horatio W. Bishop asks when Kephart’s article will be published in “Field and Stream” featuring his sketches. Mr. Bishop states his concern that the sketches may be on a smaller scale for reproduction purposes. He advertises his sketch of a new sleeping bag utilizing the O. D. Zephyer Cloth and highlights the benefits of the Kapok mattress. Bishop finally inquires of Kephart to send him a “sketch of the 12 ounce tomahawk from his summer hiking outfit.”
