Oct. 12, 1935. Dearest Family - I am awfully sorry that I have passed such a long time in writing to you, but I have been up to my ears in work. First of all I have rehearsals every night for “Three Cornered Moon.”And what I mean is they are rehearsals! My lines are awfully hard to learn because they never grow out of anything that anybody else is saying. I just break out at intervals with

In a letter to her family on October 12, 1935, Josephina Niggli describes her school workload from the past week. She mentions her several rehearsals for the various productions she is involved with, and for some of which Niggli experiences difficulties in memorizing certain lines. Niggli mentions a play of hers being put on tour along with two others, which she had to hastily finish writing. Due to this busy schedule Niggli was forced to decline certain roles in other productions, and has been slow to respond to her family's letters, for which she apologizes. Niggli also mentions her excitement for a package from her family, which contained a blouse made by her grandmother, some glass paper weights from her father, as well as pajamas, candy, soap, a pencil sharpener, and a knife. Lastly Niggli mentions that one of her plays is up for review with the board of directors and that she's been appointed a judge at a play competition sponsored by the Federation of Music.
