Did you hear Eden’s talk to the manufacturers? I thought it was very fine. Also that by the man who preceded him. It certainly sounded as if they meant what they said, & were not just pounding on brass. We can’t expect much good will come to the world, while govern- ments are controlled by a slaughter house on two feet & an abnormal, hypnotic personality. They both need to be hog tied first & argued with after. They are just Bullies & cowards as all [ineligible]. If Japans bluff had been called when she went into Manchuria, the later developments would not have developed. This seems to be long winded & like most such effusions is nil. The wishes for a Merry Christmas, the best ever; a Happy, Healthy, Prosperous New Year; all possible love from here are not just words, the come from the heart of Granny

Description

In this letter of December 12, 1938, Laura Kephart writes her son Leonard Kephart to share what she has been up to and where she has been. She says that she was able to buy herself something with the money I. K. Stearns sent her from the sale of the “Cherokee booklets” that Horace Kephart wrote. It is being used at the Cherokee Boarding School as a textbook. She includes a copy of “The Agency Wash 18th Edition” edited by Roy and Horace Kephart, the sons of George Kephart, who are 8 and 10.
