  • boy knew how anxiously we awaited for a message from him, I know he would send us at least a post card, saying where he was and how he was getting along. I was not going to be wholly surprised if he had driven in here at anytime, as a sort of surprise, I hope however that he will see Mother and Father first. I am very glad to learn that he is still coming this way. I do hope he will soon reach home safely and in perfect health. I do not think he is indifferent, he is too dear and too sweet a boy for that. I know you will forgive me for this language but it comes from my heart, knowing his as I do, I think of him as Paul thought of his dear little son, Timothy, such a dear little fellow, a true son in Jesus Christ, so bring, so highly intellectual and so spiritual. This is why I dare to use these terms as applied to dear “Dick”. I am very certain that he knows that I love him very dearly. I have just as much now as I have ever had, and am just as much interesting in him developing his God given talents as I have always been. I rather dread the trip to Knoxville, but I am trusting God to be with me, I certainly thank you for your prayers as they mean so much to me. I am indeed not very strong physically, and never have been, but God keeps me able to go.
