  • In a letter to Horace Kephart on December 16, 1926, Theodore Marvin sends Kephart two copies of “The Explosives Engineer” November issue which includes an article on North Carolina. Mr. Marvin mentions Kephart’s book in his article and supports the work of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park Association.

Dear Mr. Kephart: Enclosed are two copies of the November issue of The Explosives Engineer, beginning on Page 413 of which is an article describing that area of North Carolina with which you are so familiar. Twice I have made mention of the book in which you have satisfactorily described the land of our mountain citizens. My article adds only a pittance to what has been written of that section.
