The Student Development Office is now accepting applications for the positions of Editor- in-Chief of the Western Carolinian, Editor of the Catamount, and General Manager of WWCU-FM. Only full-time WCU students with a cumulative QPR of 2.25 or higher are eligible. b. Applicants must demonstrate a minimum of one year experience as a regular staff member of the Catamount or as a staff member of a professional publication, or one year experience as a staff member on a high school yearbook staff. Editor, Western Carolinian: a. Only full-time WCU students with a cumulative QPR of 2.50 or higher are eligible. b. Applicants must demonstrate a minimum of one year's experience as a staff member of a high school newspaper, or completion of Journalism 140 and 240 or their equivalent. c. The student selected for the position may not hold an elected position in the Student Government Association or the presidency of a campus organization k during his/her term of office*^ General Manager, WWCU: a. Candidate must have served oi the station's executive staff for at least two semesters. b. Only full-time students with a" cumulative QPR of 2.25 or higher are eligible. c. Candidate must attain a semester GPA of at least 2.0 on no less than six hours each semester as GM. After the semester of appointment, the GM need not be ^\ a full-time student.

The Western Carolinian is Western Carolina University's student-run newspaper. The paper was published as the Cullowhee Yodel from 1924 to 1931 before changing its name to The Western Carolinian in 1933.
