  • The Western Carolinian Page -12 Thursday, September 17, 1987 CLASSIFIED ADVERTISEMENTS Announcements An October 1 deadline for filing applications for the student Fulbright Program at Western Carolina University has been announced by Dr. Anthony Andrew Hickey, WCU dean of research and graduate studies and Fulbright Program advisor. The Fulbright awards are made to students who have an Interest in overseas study, scholarly project, language skills as needed in the country where they propose to study and the support the faculty of the department in which they are enrolled. Students may come from any discipline, must be seniors next year and be U.S. citizens. The awards are made for the 1988-89 academic school year. Application forms and further information for students currently enrolled at Western Carolina University may be obtained from Dr. Hickey, room 250, H.F. THANK YOU FOR YOUR COOPERATION. Holly Springs Golf and Country Club in Franklin, North Carolina announces that they have just completed construction of their Back Nine golf holes. Holly Springs Country Club has also completed their reworking of the Front Nine. The golf course is open to the public on a daily fee basis as is the driving range. The Front Nine is presently being played twice for only $5.00 green fee for a full 18 holes. The fully finished 18 hole golf course will open for play the middle of September as Western North Carolina's newest, nicest par 72 regulation mountain golf course, The Holly Springs Golf Course has been labeled "A Beautiful Mountain Challenge" because of Its 11 water holes and high mountain tees and lush beautiful landscaping. The WCU Counseling, Testing, and Psychological Services Center will be offering several "Groups for Growth and Change" during the Fall semester.
