A 9:30 pm a fireworks display will close the evening with a bang. Also Friday, a reception and dinner honoring the Class of 1944 and the Distinguished Alumni Award recipient will be held at 6:30 pm the chancellor's residence Homecoming Central Station will re-open Saturday, Oct. 22, at 9 am, and a special program for children age 11 and younger will be hosted by the Association for the Education of Young Children from 9:30 am until 1 pm at Hinds University Center. The children's program is free of charge, but advance registration is required. Nursing alumni will reunite from 10 am to 11 am in Camp Laboratory School building, with other special reunions to begin at 10:30 am at the Alumni Tower. Groups interested in reserving space for the reunion should call the allumni office by Oct. 14. Lunch on the Lawn is set for 11:30 am until 12:30 pm The cost of the box lunch is $4 for children and $6 for all others. Homecoming ceremonies, including the presentation of the Distinguished Alumnus Award and the dedication of the Myron L. Coulter Building, will begin at the Alumni Tower at 12:15 pm. A pregame show by WCUs Marching Cats will begin at 1:30 pm at EJ. Whitmire Stadium, followed by Western's Southern Conference showdown against UT-C at 2 pm. Capping off the weekend will be an Alumni Dinner and Dance in the Ballroom of the Cherokee Holiday Inn at 7 pm (reservations required), and a campus-wide student dance is set for 9 pm until midnight in the Grandroom of the Hinds University Center.
