  • 2 Father died of pneumonia fever his illness was short and severe. he died before Mother did and she said he told her before he got sick that he did not expect to live long and stay (?) living so as to be ready at any time as he was expecting to die suden (sic) now I will try to tell you about the Children, there were nine of us. Elisabeth and Joseph both died in time of war each leaving two chil- drin (sic) that come under step parents. Horace was killed in the war. he was single Andrew went through the war then married they lived together about ten years
