  • Diet. D62. LOUISVILLE : COURIER - JOURNAL BUREAU . WASHINGTON. July 14, 1901. Dear Sir: I beg to acknowledge the receipt of your letter of July 10th forwarded here to me from Ashevilie. for me At the present time it would not be practioalAto place with the Associated Press such an article as you mention. This is owing to the fact that the news feature is destroyed by my article of a previous date. I would suggest, hov/ever, that you communicate with the correspondent of the A» P. in Asheville, and request him to correspond with his company on the subject. It is not improbable that they would accept an article from him in view of Secretary Wilson's recent visit. The subject is one of interest and it seems to me that if the Appalachian National Park Association would send to the principal papers of the United States an article containing something like 600 words, with the understanding that it is to be used gratis, they would be willing to print it through its own merit. I will be glad to render such assistance as I can in Washington, and when the subject comes before Congress I will, of course watch it, on account of the news feature, if for no other reason. It would be a good idea to address a circular letter to all Southern members of Congress about December 2st in order that they may be thoroughly posted when the matter comes up on the floor. Vemsincerely yours, , —— V /*/< Aftbler Esq., geor !»~«a1«*e*rfT»~ 1"-' onal Park Association, tasted ^ - ~^~~r-"aT,s 3. North Carol! ^
