In this letter of December 8, 1944, Laura Kephart responds to her son Leonard Kephart from her daughter Lucy’s house. She is glad to hear all his good news, except that the boys may be sent to the front line. She is hoping the war will be over before that happens. She talks about Thanksgiving celebrations and upcoming Christmas plans. She tells him about the death of her friend Nona.
