  • in the light of those folish laws passed in Va. directed at Hampton Inst. and what is going on now in Fla. From the very first, I wanted the dear boy so that I could teach him, along the very lines in which he is gifted. He is without doubt one of the dearest boys I have ever met. So very, very bright, wholesome and an altogether sweet boy from every angle. If I were not here in the South, the problem of getting him would be easy, I would take him in the laboratory with me. I long for the boy, my heart is set on him, and I am praying that God will open the way for me to have him. I hear from him very regularily now. Just had a fine letter from the dear fellow last night. He had just returned from a Camping tour up in the Mountains, and from his description of things he saw and collected, he got much out of the trip. I believe God will open the way so that I can get him, I am right now doing o so many, many things in which he is interested. Please pray with me, to God that He will open the way for me to have my dear “son Timothy”. I love the dear lad just as genuinely as ever Paul loved his dear little Timothy.
