Nov. 26, 1948 Dear Leonard,- Among the many things I wanted to talk over with you is the Bryson City mix up over your father’s things. If we can get them out of the clutches of the folks down there, would you have room to store them. It is just his books, & papers, no furniture or such. The Fernows could have them put in their garage, but the farm may be sold any time possibly, so that is not a good place for them.

In this letter of November 26, 1948, Laura Kephart writes to her son, Leonard Kephart (1892-1988) to ask him if he could store his father’s things if they can get them “out of the clutches of the folks” in Bryson City. Also to let him know that she sent Dickie’s card.
