carved and very curly, 44 inch barrel and weighs about 11 ½ lbs. I have an exact duplicate only 2 inches shorter. I have Killdeer sun shade and 2 bullet molds, strictly original oh she is a beauty, it is my intention to donate all to the Capital at Harrisburg. Paper is scarce. Dillin

In a letter to Horace Kephart on June 2, 1924, Dillin writes to Kephart explaining the delay by the National Rifle Association in publishing a book on the Kentucky rifle. He describes his Killdeer rifle and its history.
