DPMA Data Processing Management Association will be having an important meeting Tuesday, Oct. 16, at 6 The Alpha Phi Omega Fraternity at WCU will sponsor its Annual Fall Red Cross Blood Drive at the University (enter on Wednesday and Thursday, October 17th and 18th, from noon till 5 p.m. The goal for this visit is 150 units per day. There will be a meeting 0f the Western delegation to the North Carolina Student Legislature at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday Oct. 12 in McKee 15. Subjects to be discussed include bill topics, the Oct. The schedule, release from the conference office by Commissioner Kenneth G. Germann, begins January 5 when Appalachian State and Furman, last year's tournament finalists, clash at Memorial Auditorium, Greenville, S.C. NBC/TVS will screen the tournament's championship game, for the first time ever, on March 1 from the Roanoke, Va. Civic Center. A first round game on Februrary 23, with site to be determined, will also be telecast. Other regular season games selected by NBC/TVS include Western Carolina at the Citadel on January 12, and Western Carolina at Marshall on February 9. Appalachian, Furman, Western Carolina and The Citadel were lournamenl semi-finalists last March. Appalachian's 86-83 championship final win over Furman advanced the Mountaineers to the National Collegiate tournament, where they lost, 71-57, to L.S.U. in the first round. Bill O'Donnell, veteran sportscaster, will handle the play-by-play. Larry Conley, former University of Kentucky star, does the color commentary Stations included on the Southern regional network will be announced at a later date.
