Both cafeterias will serve from 4:30 to 5:30 only on Tuesday. SAC holds forum The Student Advisory Council (SAC) for the school of business will hold a forum at 8 p.m. on November 1 in Forstyth Auditorium. The forum is designed to answer any questions and offer criticism and suggestions concerning the school of business. The SAC was formed last November to provide student opinion and suggestions to Dean Kerby of the school of business. The SAC has been successful in various areas and is looking for increased student faculty imput. Juniors wishing to serve on the Council may obtain more information by writing Business SAC, P.O. Box 764, Cullowhee or by contacting Dennis Burnette, Greg Martin, Kathy Moser, Cheryl Punch, Tony Scott, Janet Stemple or Karen Wyont. Resuscitate the dead A cardiopulminary resuscitation program will be offered in room 107 of Moore Hall from 7 to 9:30 p.m. October 30 and November 6 and 13. Sponsored by the American Heart Association and the WCU Student Emergency Care Team, the program will teach participants how to administer basic life support to accident victims in emergency situtations. Participants who complete the course will be awarded an AHA certificate. Cost of the program will be $5. Interested persons can enroll by calling the WCU division of continuing education at 227-7397. Registration will also be held at the first class meeting. XUCB begins The XUCB-TV will begin its second showing in the University Center Snack Bar on October 30. Show times will be 1 p.m., 3 p.m., 6 p.m., and 8 p.m. Two shows will alternate during the week of October 30 through November 3. They are Muhammed Ali's "Skill, Brains, and Guts," and the Beatle's "Magic Christian." The XUCB-TV is sponsored by the University Center Board. Enjoy your break Enjoy your fall break this year in a different way. Spend two days and two nights on the fast and rapid Chattooga River. This river has been designated as a National Wild Scenic River by the U.S. Forest Service. Enjoy the wildlife that abounds in the area such as black bear, wild boar, turkey, squirrels in addition to the beautiful and breath-taking fall scenery along a 25 mile stretch of this river. This trip is designed for the canoer with limited experience as well as the advanced canoer. The sections that will be encountered on the river range from section I which is a warm-up for what's ahead to Section III which tests the canoer's abilitv with many irregular waves and narrow passes. For an idea of the type of river we will do, part of the movie Deliverance was filmed on the river. The participants will leave the University Center at 10 a.m. on Saturday morning October 21 and return Tuesday afternoon, October 24. Participants are required to provide their own camping equipment and meals. The total cost of this trip will be $30 which includes all transportation, equipment, and an experienced guide. Climb a rock Have you ever felt the challenge to climb the face of a particular mountain but had to refuse that inner urge because you lacked the knowledge and skill of rock climbing? Well now is your chance to conquer those inner urges. The UC will sponsor a beginning and intermediate rock climbing clinic on Sunday, October 29th. The clinic starts at 8 a.m. and ends at 6 p.m. Instruction includes friction climbing, belaying techniques, equipment use and safety techniques. Participants should be in good physical condition. The cost for the clinic will be $20 which includes equipment, instruction, and transportation. For further information come by the UC offices on the first floor of the University Center. Yard sale A yardsale will begin at 10 a.m. October 21 in the parking lot of St. David's Episcopal Church behind the football stadium. Bring your white elephants and other household items to tile Parish House by Friday the 20th. Intramural schedule The intramural office has announced its schedule of activities for the two weeks of October 19 through November 2. All intramural events listed above will be held in Reid Gym. Film showing The Academy Award winning movie The Best Years of Our Lives will be shown Tuesday, Oct. 31 in Forsyth Auditorium at 7. This MGM film classic dramatizes the problems of returning World War II veterans. Admission is $1. Chorus rehearsals The Western Carolina Community Chorus will begin rehearsals October 22 for a program of Christmas selections to be performed in mid-December. Membership in group is open, without audition, to singers who can attend regular rehearsals Sunday afternoons at 4 p.m. Rehearsals will be held in the choral room, room 357, of the new WCU Music-English Buliding. • Since its information in 1970, the chorus has given 16 performances in eight different locations throughout the area. Total membership of the group numbers some 70 singers ranging in age from teenagers to retired persons and representing as many as five WNC counties. The chorus is directed by Dr. James E.
