  • PAGE 6/THE WESTERN CAROLINIAN/MARCH 23, 1978 Four members represent WCU Circle K wins two awards Rick Edwards, Mike Robinson, Wayne Galke and Steve Wilborn represented the WCU Circle K Club at the Carolinas Annual District Convention held last week-end in Charlotte. Guest speaker for the conven tion was Neil Guiliano, Circle K International President. The WCU Circle K Club won two of the ten awards given in several categories. Al Bloeser, the WCU faculty and Kiwanis advisor, won the James M. Storie Award which is presented to the distinguished non-Circle K member in the district. WCU Circle K also won second place award for money collected in Shinerama which was held on campus and in Sylva in November of last year. This was a joint project between the Circle K Clubs of WCU and ASU. The club has also announced the officers of the club for next year. They are: President-Steve Wilborn, Vice-President-John Pennell, Secretary-April Carson, Treasurer-Rick Edwards, Parliamentarian-Rick Alcorn, and Reporter-Mike Robinson. The club has also announced that they will sponsor a Rock-A-Thon to be held April 8th in the parking lot of Lay's Department Store in Sylva. The Rock-A-Thon is open to all campus and community organizations and a trophy will be presented to the club raising the most money. All proceeds will ga to the American Cancer Society. Any interested organizations should contact John Pennell in 322 Albright or Steve Wilborn in 409 Harrill before April 5th. All Circle K meetings are open to the public.
