College seniors preparing to teach school may take the National Teacher Examinations on any of the four different test dates an= nounced by Educational Testing Service.a nonprofit.educaiional organization which prepares and administers this testing program. New dates for the testing of prospective teachers are: November 8, 1969, and January 31, April 4, and July 18, 1970. The tests will be given at nearly 500 locations throughout the United States, ETS said. Ski Club Meeting An organizational meeting of the Olympic Ski Club of WCU will be held tonight, Thursday, October 2, at 7:00 p.m. on the second floor of the University center. All officers and inte~ rested skiers and students interested in learning to ski are urged to attend. WRA Meeting The Woman's Recreational Association held its first meeting September 29th in Breese gymnasium. The officers introduced themselves and entertained the club with a song. For benefit of old and new members, each girl was asked to give her name, home town, and major. Plans were discussed for the annual fall camping trip to Smokemont (October 17-19) which will include a hike to Clingman's Dome. Refresh*- ments were served and then everyone helped cut the ribbons for the corsages to be sold for Homecoming. Approximately 125 attended the meeting. Scuba Course An Orientation course on Snorkel and SCUBA diving will be taught for five Thursday evenings beginning October 9 in the Reid Swimming pool starting at 7:30 each evening. The course is free of charge and without college credit. Participants must furnish their own swim suits and towels. Cutoff clothing will not substitute for a swim suit. The first 20 people to sign up with Mrs. Mary Helen Langston, Office #14, Reid Gymnasium will constitute the class. For further information contact Dr. Otto H. Spilker, Reid Pool. Wesley Retreat The Wesley Foundation will participate in a Fall Planning Retreat, October 3=5 at Lake Junaluska. Cost, per person, is $5.50, with meals included and transportation provided.
