  • It does not amount to much, but as they paid for themselves long since, all that comes in now is cream. When you see Caty congratulate him for me. If I could do it personally, I would add a big hug, tell him. I could do it,if it happened that an invitation was extended me to accompany Karl as far a 226 on his way to Richmond to the Science Meetings. He may take His [mother] & her nurse-companion, Mrs. Pew to Bala Cynird, if Margaret Fernow invites Mrs. F. She does not go there without an invite. Last week Mr. Atkinson fell down his cellar stairs, then went to the Hospital with broken ribs & possible brain concussion, so Julia told me Sat. Howard was up to cut wood yesterday P.M.; said a specialist from Rochester found no brain trouble, but a clot on the spine (?) Did not understand just where or what it was. Any way it was removed & he, Mr. A., was himself & doing well. Sat. I saw Mrs. Maber on the street. A few days before Lucy Fitch told her, that Fitch was slowly wasting away & the Drs cannot locate the trouble. Perhaps he is “paying the piper.” He surely has danced fast & furious according to all accounts. Susie does not appreciate the matter, which is a fortunate thing. Wish I could do something to help, but I am still persona non grata. Lucy is surely showing her metal; I am very sorry for her, but that does not help.
