Dec. 10 1935 Dear Leonard Can you please find out & let me know - P.D.Q.- the copyright law regarding the Cherokee paper? Mr. Atkinson will print in a very dignified form 2000 copies for $130. The N.C. company wanted $165 for 1000 copies. Lucy & Karl question my right to reprint, & I must know my rights without any question before I go farther. We are in the midst of moving - “you know how it is yourself. Direct your reply to Karl’s office, as our ^future address is still uncertain. Hastily Mama The paper was printed in Outing magazine March, April, May 1919

In this letter of December 10, 1935, Laura Kephart writes her son, Leonard Kephart (1892-1988) asking him to check on copyright law for an article about Cherokee life that was printed in Outing Magazine in 1919. She lets him know she is in the midst of moving and to direct his letter to Karl’s office.
