  • April 23, 1937 Dear Leonard, The enclosed speak for themselves, you need not return them. I. K. wrote that a book – guide to Smoky Mountains or some such name has just been published by MacMillan, they had a big ad in last Sun. H. Trib[une] Book Section. It is by Mrs. Laura Thornborough sells for $2. - There were many reasons why I could not get to 226. It was suddenly decided Fri. a. m. that we would go to Ithaca that afternoon. Roy could come there Sat. a. m. if B. could go to Birdsall for him. She couldn’t do that unless she went to Ithaca Fri. The girls had a vacation beginning Fri and through this week, so that worked well. It proved to be a most hectic weekend [in] spite of [ineligible] planning. Roy failed to send words to 111 as to meeting him, so B. had to telephone to only to discover he was waiting for her there. Had forgotten he was to have order awaiting her at 111. Sat. a.m. early Julia telephoned that C. L. had “passed on” the night before & they were leaving for
