  • t I notice however that they go right on complaining of bites while I am having a most comfortable time, I presume the alkali of the soap neutralizes the poison, (which I suspect has an acid reaction, though. I have no authority for thinking it) and the thin coating protects the skin from the constant irrita*. tion of clothes and air. Those are two of my "kinks" which I pass on for what they are worth to anyone. They perhaps;- are not new to you, after all your experience, and if so please cheerfully forget them and note in paticular that this was written primarily to tell you that it needs not a camper to get benefit from all the time and work and joy you have put into your books, but that it there are rest, recreation and joy for the stay-at- home librarian or housekeeper. I am glad you)have had so much fun in it all yourself that you wanted to share with someone else of the same aind. The sharing of something we particularly like always makes us like it a little more. This is long for a bit of appreciation, but with it goes the hope that you will have many glorious camping days with enough rain to lend variety. Sincerely yours,
