Metal-working plants at Knoxville have an annual output of more than $10,000,000. Their products include rolled iron and steel, temperature regulating devices, coal mine equipment, quarry and mill machinery, stoves, and general foundry products. The Fulton Company at Knoxville is the largest plant in the world devoted exclusively to the manufacture of temperature regulating devices. Knoxville has a group of wood-working plants that have an annual output of approximately $6,000,000. Products of these plants include living room furniture, tables, chairs, refrigerators, cabinets, boxes, and coffins. In addition, much lumber is sold by the mills here. Several milling companies, turn out flour, meal, and feed that is distributed over a wide territory. A large fertlizer manufacturing plant is located here.
