MY clear Sir: - The seed, of the Appalachian National Park Association planted, hereon November 22nd has taken root and is growing. The movement is worthy of the bast thoughts and efforts ofthe people of this country, it is neither local nor sectional in its scope, but National, and should enlist the hearty support of every patriotic citizen of this great Nation. While all this is true, the movement in its initiatory stages must b be supported almost entirely b;y our own people. Believing the mo vernent will enlist your earnest support I ask that you aid us in accomplishing the object of our organization. If not convenient for you to give us the benefit cf your personal assistance kindly give us a money • it contri^ition. There are necessarily expenses in the way of printing, traveling, etc., for which we must have funds. Mr Moses H Cone of greensborc, N. C. and Col. J.' S. Carr of Durham, N. C. have offered to be among twenty men to give fifty dollars ($50.00) each, fill you not "ge one of that number? Any contribution you see proper to make please send to Dr. C. P. Ambler, Sec.-Treas, Asheville, N. C, We will be glad to furnish you with whatever printed matter you aan use.
