Citations or medals: European-African- Middle Eastern Theatre, Good Conduct. Served as laundry machine operator with medical units. Took part in Normandy Invasion, Northern France and Rhineland Campaigns and Ardennes Battle. Discharged Oct. 5, 1945. EMT 3/c JOSEPH GLENN FREEMAN, Sylva, N. C, son of Mrs. Sallie H. Freeman. Inducted Sept. 13, 1943. Trained at Bainbridge, Md., Norfolk, Va., and Newport, R. I. Served in the Pacific Theatre of War. Following 2 months in Trinidad, he went to Pearl Harbor where he remained until he joined the 5th Fleet at Ulithi after which he made two trips with the First Carrier Group which bombed Tokyo.
