Served in the European Theatre of War. Reenlisted with Merchant Marines. CORP. FRED D. HOOPER, Cowarts, N. C, son of Jane and Hut Hooper and husband of Hellen Sutton. Inducted Oct. 4, 1942. Trained at Fort Bragg, N. C. Served in the European Theatre of Operations. Received the Combat Infantry Badge. Service took him into France, Germany, Austria, and Czechoslovakia. Discharged Dec. 27, 1945. PVT. HELEN A. HOOPER, Sylva, N. C, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. Claude Allison and wife of John L. Hooper. Inducted Jan. 6, 1945. Trained at Fort Oglethorpe, Ga., and attended Lab. Technician School, Camp Atterbury, Ind. Discharged Dec. 11, 1945. LT. (jg) JOHN L. HOOPER, Sylva, N.
