  • news November 4,1998 inian October 27 A male student pled guilty to possession of marijuana. He was fined $100 and court costs. Charges of DWI and a provisional licensee violation were continued to November 23. Housing staff reported a male who was unescorted on a women's floor in Walker at 8:21 p. m. who was being uncooperative with Housing staff and refused to produce identification. Officers convinced the subject to cooperate, identified him, and referred the incident to Housing for follow-up action. A student in Reynolds reported that someone had accessed her computer system without authorization at 11:55 p. m. October 28 A student reported the theft of several compact discs, a watch, a sapphire ring, and a high school class ring from her room in Helder which occurred between 12:01 a. m. and 3:00 a. m. on 10/28. Suspects are believed to be visitors to the room. Officers arrested a male non-student for assault on a female and damage to personal property in connection with an incident in Scott where he allegedly struck his former girlfriend and broke the door of a dryer. A student in Walker found her roommate unconscious in their room at 7:58 p.m. Officers assisted WCU EMS with the call. The victim was transported to Harris Regional Hospital for treatment. October 29 A Search Warrant was conducted in a residence hall room in reference to the Illegal Accessing of a Computer System. Charges are pending. A male student was arrested for possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia after a Search Warrant was conducted for an unrelated incident. Officers investigated the report that a student was missing for several weeks. Officers located the student in Asheville. October 30 - November 1 Officers found four vehicles which had been struck by eggs behind Scott Hall at 1:54 a. m. on 11/1. A student reported that someone had cut the wires to his security system on his car while it was parked at Albright between 4:30 and 5:00 p. m. on 10/29. Officers found seven vehicles which had been struck with eggs at 7:00 p. m. on 10/31. November 2 A student reported that someone had made charges on his credit card account without his permission between 9/23 and 10/26. The investigation continues. Officers cited a male student for driving with an expired inspection sticker and an expired registration plate at 1:30 a. m. after observing the vehicle speeding on Central Drive. An employee reported that he saw a suspicious person coming out of the Motor Pool lot at 6:17 a. m. Officers could not locate the subject.
