  • Senate report An act, SR 780, to establish a weekly cafeteria menu to be printed in the Western Carolinian, was passed in Monday night's SGA senate meeting. In other business, SR 784, an act to establish an interim Board of Directors for the Off-Campus Housing and Utilities Co-Operative was presented before the senate. This bill was referred to the University Services and Rules Committees. WCU's annual Honors and Awards Day will be April 18 at 8 p.m. in the Grandroom of the U.C. All students are invited. Basketball recruits signed WCU started their basketball recruiting season sensationally by announcing the signing of two All-State forward prospects Wednesday morning. The Catamounts have signed to grants-in-aid Kenny Trimier of Toccoa. Ga. and Greg Young of S. Charleston WVA. Trimier, ab'b'A", 190 pounder, from Stevens County High was a Georgia All-State selection. Kenny has also been an all-star performer in the B.C. Basketball Camp in Milledge- ville, Georgia, one of the best summer camps in the country. His Stevens County team went 47-7 in his two varsity seasons as he averaged 17 points and 14 rebounds a game this year. Greg, a 6'5" forward, is the brother of Catamount freshman Eric Young. The MVP on the South Charleston club, the number one ranked high school basketball team in the state, Greg averaged close to 20 APRIL 12, 1979/THE WESTERN CAROLINIAN/PAGE 3 points and 12 rebounds a game. He was ranked as one of the top High School prospects in West Virginia this past season. Western Carolina head coach Steve Cottrell said of his new recruits, "Both of these young men are outstanding, some of the best we've ever recruited here. Between Kenny and Greg we feel we'll be strong at our wing (small forward position) where Bubba Wilson and Ray Person have played so well. Recruiting that position was a top priority this year. I'm very, very excited about these two athletes and very pleased they will be at WCU next fall."
