Dr. lonimv Mew will be honored at a reception in the . allerv al 7 p.m. Monday. The exhibit will open with another reception at 2 p.m. Sunday in the gallery. Dr. Mew. currently a professor and chairman of the an department at Berry College in Mt. Berry. GA, will conduct a public lecture at 7:30 p.m. Monday in Belk HM and a public workshop at 1 p.m. Tuesday in Belk 393. lhe artist lulls Ins painting as "Diarist." Dr. Mew received a bachelor of science in fine arts from the University of Florida m l%2. a master of arts degree in art education and constructive design from Florida State Universitv in 1%4. and a Ph.D. in creative arts from New York Universitv in l%b. In lsni Dr. Mew exhibited a one-man show in The Image South Ciallery in Atlanta. GA. served as a member of the board of directors for "Contemporary Art/Southeast." a quarterly journal, and displaved puces in exhibits in Antwerpen, Belgium; Manitoba. Canada; and Mildura. Australia. lhe exhibit, lecture, workshop, and reception sponsored by the WCU Visiting Scholars Program and the art department, are free to the public. The Belk art gallery is open from 8 a.m. until noon and 1 until -1 p.m. Monday through Friday, and trom I until 4 p.m. Sunday.
