Two More Students Arrested ["wo WCL students were arrested Tuesday in Sylva by officers of the Jackson County Sheriff's Department in what was termed a follow-up to a raid made by the Sheriff's Depart- niem on June 13 at a house on Hick's Gap lioad south of Cullowhee. Sheriff Fred Holcombe reported that Kevin ''Dakota" Boutclle, 19, of Rapid City,S.D. and Jamie Skees, 20, of Cullowhee were arrested. Both were charged with possession of dangerous drugs. Fry, a senior in social sciences, is a native of Florida and a veteran of the U, S. Army. Barnes, a senior in accounting is a native of Hickory. (<1) Dr. Jack K. Carlton Appointed Chancellor Dr, Jack K, Carlton, a 6 feet 4 I. 2 inches tall native Texan, Tuesday was named chancellor of Western Carolina University. He will assume office Aug. NCTE Names Orr As Judge The National Council of Tea~ chers of English has announced the appointment of Mrs. Jane Cover Orr, Western Carolina University assistant professor of English, as a regional judge in the NCTE Achievement Awards Program for 1972. The nationally recognized competition, now in its 15th year, cites high school seniors for excellence in English and recommends them to colleges and universities for admission and financial aid. Approx imately 7,200 students are candidates for Achievement A= wards in 1972. The NCTE also honors teachers and schools that have participated in the training of these young men and women, Mrs. Orr received her bachelor's degree from the University of North Carolina and holds master's degrees from both WCU and UNC at Chapel Hill. She joined the WCU faculty in 1967,
