Park Association Jan 26, 1901 Dear sir: The outlook for the success of the Appalachian Forest Preserve measure is even a larger bases than we had originally planned : (growing higher daily) but the present need of friends is urgent and even imperative. You are hereby authorized to use my check for $50.00 for the general expenses of pushing this measure before Congress. And I hope my associates in this measure will cooperate on this bases as far as possible, J. A. Holmes.

This correspondence addresses the possibility of hosting a banquet for U. S. representatives in 1901. Although members of the Appalachian National Park Association did travel to Washington D.C. to meet with members of Congress, it appears that this banquet was never held.
