  • BUYER OP COjaHERCIBH PAPERS, STOCKS, BONDS, HftD I?EHIl HSTBTH. CHH^IiOTTE, H. C. .Jan'y 11th y Dr. C. P. Ambler, Sec'y& Treas., Appalachian National park Association, Ashville-, N. 0. Dear Sir:- I drop you these few lines simply to let you know that [ have not fallen asleep nor abandoned the scheme of the Appal- achian National Park. Mr. Eccles and myself have given much time to it in the way of raising subscriptions and getting signatures, both of which we will send you in a day or two. W$ find that our people here are very loath to pentribute anything. Not because they would not like to see the Park established, but from the fact that they are continually harrassed with applications for subscriptions for divers objects, and not the least among which are festivals, churches, the poor, the hospitals and then our own local schemes require a grsat deal of money from our people. But we will raise $50.00 for you at ony rate. Trusting you are having better success elsewhere, £ remain, Yours truly,
