OFFICE OF THE DIRECTOR DEPARTMENT OF THE INTERIOR NATIONAL PARK SERVICE Washington December 19, 1928. Mr. Horace Kephart, Bryson City, North Carolina. Dear friend Kephart: I finished last night reading your most interesting article "Afoot and Awing in the Great Smokies'* in the last number of Field and Stream." I enjoyed it very much. I should like to see more articles from your pen, especially on some of the details of the area which you know so well.
