Amy begins the show by reviewing some of the things Catch the Spirit of Appalachia produced, participated in, or accomplished during 2014. Doreyl continues talking with T.J. Holland on Creative Corner. He talks about his work with the Junaluska Museum to preserve and interpret Cherokee culture and history, as well as the Eastern Band’s efforts at cultural preservation and revitalization. The interview is followed by “Cherokee Trail/Glory in the Meeting House” by Dirk Powell and Tim O’Brien. Amy’s guest on Stories of Mountain Folk is Carey Phillips of Sylva, who shares some of his memories of growing up in Sylva. “Precious Memories” by Tennessee Ernie Ford follows the interview. On This is My Home, Joe reads “Old Christmas” by John Parris, which is about traditional ways of celebrating Christmas in the mountains. “Beautiful Star of Bethlehem” by the Cockman Family follows the story. Judy’s guest on Down Another Road is Eva Mull Wike, who talks about the value of education and how it has shaped her life. She also shares some stories of teaching high school in Oliver Springs, Tennessee. The interview is followed by “Twilight is Stealing” by Betty Collins Brown, and the show ends with “Auld Lang Syne” by Shirley Cason.
