  • The show begins with Amy’s story “Lollipop Pigs,” which is about her and her siblings playing on the bank around the house where she spent her childhood. The story is accompanied by “My Soul Thirsts for God” by David Bauer. On Creative Corner, Doreyl talks with Melinda DeHart of the Stecoah Valley Center in Robbinsville. She talks about the art on display in the Center as well as some of the community services that the Center offers. The interview is followed by “Backstep Cindy” by Dirk Powell and Tim O’Brien. Amy’s guest on Stories of Mountain Folk is Becky Chastain Reeves, who is from Tuckasegee. She talks about her family history and also discusses her childhood and upbringing. “Back When the Old Homeplace was New” by Tom T. Hall follows the interview, Next, an interview Doreyl did with Betty Cabe in July 2011 is rebroadcast; they talk about making corn shuck dolls. “The Old Home Place” by J.D. Crowe follows the interview. On Down Another Road, Judy talks again with David Knisley. He shares a story about seeing his school burn down when he was 6 years old. The interview is followed by “He’s Still in the Fire” by the Children of Zion, and “Grandpa” by Mountain Faith concludes the show.
