  • Amy’s story, “A Silk Purse Out of a Sow’s Ear” carries us back to Thanksgiving time in the 50s. “There Was a Time” by Appalachian Fire follows the segment. On Creative Corner, Doreyl spends time with poet Thomas Rain Crowe. They talk about Thomas Berry and the environment. The interview is followed by “For the Beauty of the Earth” by the Butterpats. Amy’s guest on Stories of Mountain Folk is Cliff Harris from Franklin who tells a warm story about living in an orphanage when he was a child. “This Little Light of Mine” by Mountain Faith concludes the interview. A second segment of Stories of Mountain Folk finds Amy beginning a series about quilting. Her first guests are the Cowee Quilters from Cowee Valley in Macon County. The segment is closed with “Smoky Mountain Emerald Bridge” by Ron Smith. On Down Another Road, Judy interviews guest Rachel Rudi who talks about shape note music. “Canaan Land” by Rachel Rudi and shape note singers follows the interview. The shows closes with the song “Fall on my Knees” by the Blue Ridge Rounders.
