  • *C^.gm$^ a+/**>* 19^ NEW BOARD OF TRADE. Permanent Organization at Waynesville Last Evening. Permanent organization of the Waynesville Board of Trade was effected at a meeting last evening. The Board is incorporated under the laws of the State, with 38 charter members, and capital stock of $1000. The annual election of officers is to be held the first Thursday of January, and meetings are to be held the first Monday of each month. The organization will work \ specially for a Southern National Park and a railroad from Waynesville to Newport, Tenn. The following officers were elected: President—W. B. Ferguson. First vice-president—Col. S. A. Jones. Second vice-president—James M. Moody. Secretary—J. D. Boone. Treasurer—S. C. White. Collector—J. L. String-field. Board of directors—Geo. H. Smath- ers, T. C. Skinner, Dr. J. Howell Way, i S. C. Satterthwaite, H. W. Cole, R. D.I Gilmer, John C. Wright, John P. Swift, Clyde H. Ray. A. H. SI He spirit that is being awakened in Asheville is shown in the temporary organization of the Public Health and Resort association, whose purpose May be briefly summarized as "the interests of Asheville in all their phases." While .as yet but in the formative stage the degree of enthusiasm expressed and the very business-like and persistent manner in which Dr. Paquin has pressed the project on the attention of the people, bids fair to achieve much to make the association a very powerful lever to place Asheville in her deserved place at the head of the resort
