The hike this year, however, is a new one. President Frizzell promises that the business session will be short and sweet; just transacting the essential business and leaving much more time for the square dance, to meet the new members and mingle with the old ones. And, let us remind you that this meeting will be the best time to 'turn in suggestions for good hikes for 1934—we plan our hikes and other activities a year ahead, you know. Now, that we are to have a brand new hike on this date, we urge that everyone spend Saturday night at Montvale and be ready to explore the hidden charm of Hesse Creek on Sunday. We drive, on the Cades Cove road, to the top of Rich Mountain and on to the first creek that crosses this road. This is Hesse Creek. It flows north- Ward for a few miles, then turns eastward and enters Little River below (north of) Kinzel Springs. It is possible that some of the hikers may travel the entire length of the creek, but 55
