February 28th, 1928 Mr. Horace Kephart Bryson City, North Carolina Dear Mr. Kephart:- Your letter of the 24th, answering mine of a few days earlier, has been read with considerable interest and appreciation. I'm passing your comments along to Ed Cave, who I know will be mighty pleased to hear that you liked his booklet. Incidentally, you said some very fine things about Air Beds, and I'm wondering if I might use some of your remarks in my future advertising. May I? I don't know whether or not the Air Bed to which you refer is of the same construction as the Hodgman Camp Air Bed, but ours, I believe, is considerably superior to other types of Air Beds on the market. Ours, as you will notice from the enclosed illustration, has the box edge construction, and its ribs or partitions run the long way. Your entire body actually rests on air, since this construction -keeps the air beneath you. The bed in which you are apparently interested is our 32 x 75. Our dealer price on this bed is $12.00. This bed weighs about 13g pounds. We have a 36 x 75 Bed, which weighs 14 pounds, and which will cost you $15.00. We also have a 25 x 75 bed, weighing 12 pounds, which would cost you $10.50. All sizes except the 32 x 75 are available for immediate shipment. This size can be shipped within three to four weeks. I'm glad to notice that you have been appointed editor of Camping and Woodcraft for "Adventure". Good lucki jb/al Cordially yours, HODGMAN RUBBER COMPANY f/ayUi 04
