  • FREDERICK STEWART, 30 BROAD STREET, NEW YORK. TELEPHONE 2180 BROAD. Eebruary 23rd, 1901. Dr. Ambler, Secy. Southern Appalachian National Park,Association, Asheville, N. C. Dear Sir:- You may remember having had some prior correspondence with, me regarding the Whittier Tract near your city, in connection with a bill now before the U. S. Senate. I understand that the bill will not be passed by the Senate at the present session of Congress, and that the likelihood of a special session of Congress is rather remote. Can you inform me whether the bill has already passed the House of Representatives, and what you consider are the probalities of an early passage of that measure? When the proper time comes, we shall be very glad to assist your association in bringing about the passage of the said measure. Very truly yours, .^tc^t^/f, FS-C.
