  • A small package is ready to send to Frances, but it may be a week before it gets to the P.O. The black dress was Dorothy’s; she was caught out in the rain & it shrunk, so she could not wear it. I know France does not care for black but perhaps she can get some color on it. The other dress Lucy bought & found it was too small. I took it from her, but did not like it on me. It is cheap but I think right pretty & may do as a filler in. Roy was to be in N.Y. trailing a job. Praise be, when he is home the neighbors keep him busy. They are thankful for an Extra hand & he is thankful to earn his fuel & I imagine his rent & a lot of things like a six pound rooster etc. occasionally. They have joined the Grange & have all the social engagements they can handle. Laura had a cold & Marnie the mumps recently. Otherwise they have kept well. Don’t let the children forget that Granny is fit to burst with pride at the way they are doing. Lots of love all around. Mama
