Barbara wants to come for a little visit sometime soon. Marnie is home for her vacation now; expects to come back Sunday. It would not surprise me if they all came Sat. as Roy & perhaps Laura could come then. They could leave Barbara here & perhaps Lucy could take her home & let me ride along with them. This is just one of my wonderings. David & a friend - perhaps two friends-are to be here for the week end. He has stipulated that I am to be present at the gathering. In this letter of April 9, 1947 Laura Kephart writes George Kephart to discuss Cornelia’s illness. Her 60th anniversary is coming up and she wants her children to know she would have “married as she did.” She expresses her happiness that Roy is home, and she mentions that she has 15 pounds of sugar for Lucy’s canning.
