and that, with her very sensible, lady- like behaviour, gives her many ad- mirers. Last week we bought for her a fine seal plush coat, and a new dress and a new hat; and she is greatly elated over it. However, she is not vain – at last not more so than even sensible girls of her age are. She is a close student , and takes great interest in mastering her studies; but she is thoroughly disgus ted with mathematical philosophy. But I must close. we all send love to Laura and the babe, Affectionately, I. L. Kephart P. S. Your mother says write soon, and give us some news, other than the genealogy of the Kepharts. In this letter of October 29, 1888, I. L. Kephart writes his son Horace Kephart continuing to pass along genealogy information. He tells him of the Goss family, ancestors on his mother's side, and that the living descendants mostly are in Oceola Mills, Clearfield County, Pennsylvania. Isaiah Kephart invites Horace to attend the Bigler camp-meeting in August to meet friends and see homes of his ancestors. He also tells Horace of his father's family, the Kepharts, including John Kephart who was murdered last May. Isaiah talks about Horace's sister Belle, how she is doing with school and her behavior.
