We have just published Daniel Boone’s “Adventures,” “written by Himself’,” taken from an old volume in my library entitled “History of the Discovery of America,” etc., published in 1812. Some time ago we also published a short sketch of the Boone family, which was resident here before Daniel was born. My object in writing to you is to ask your consent to republish a pamphlet embodying an address on “Pennsylvania’s Part in Winning the West,” which you delivered before the Pennsylvania Society of St. Louis, December 12, 1901.
