  • Funny, there’s no tax on cigarettes. I bought me a rain cape today for a dollar. It rains almost every day, it it is much too hot to carry my coat. The cape is very pretty, reversible, white on one side, green on the other, and very becoming. Has a high military collar, & I feel like the king of the dragoons. Give my love to Eugenia Kessler. I really must write to her, as I think she’s perfectly charming, and I liked her very much. I’m glad you went to see her, & from your letter, you must have gone to-er-
