Several positions were Opened as staff members left WCU last year. There are three new hires in the Office of Leadership & Student Involvement for - assistant director for stu- - dent clubs and organiza- ; ions, assistant director of leadership and assistant director for greek life. Karen Farmer is the new assistant director for student clubs and organiza- . tions. She was formerly the . coordinator of student life programs at Georgia Pe- rimeter College where she directly advised the cam- pus programming board and scheduled student life programs and committees. Her daily responsibili- ties at WCU include com- munication to all officially recognized student organi- zations through OrgSync, . work with her graduate - assistant to help commu-. - nicate to students the up- - dates SGA and leadership - has made and discuss ways * in. which they can utilize the service. She came to WCU be- cause she wanted to give students an opportunity to develop and grow as an in- dividual by being involved oncampus, I wanted to take part in the process of giving people the college expe- rience because it really helps shape the person that you become, Farmer said. You start to determine your values and what you stand for; start acting like a leader and learn how to challenge yourself where you start to really learn ar- eas of strength and sincere appreciation for others. Tacquice Wiggans is the new assistant director. of leadership. She was the resident director and lead- ership professor at Rama- po College.
