Registration, absentee information outlined 1976 is a year for election, and there is a deadline. In order to be eligible to vote in the state primary, you must register before Monday, July 19. The following guidelines will help you register in your home county: 1. Go to the county seat of your home county anytime between 9 and 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. See the executive secretary of the board of elections and tell him or her you want to register. 2. You remain registered until you miss two elections in a four year period. 3. The ballot will be mailed directly to you after July 19. Only "blood kin" can apply for you (parent, sibling, child, grandchild,— not in-laws.) Ballots can be mailed back to the board of elections from any place. 3. If you are going to be home between the August 17 primary .and the July deadline for registration, but will not be home on election day itself, you may go to the board of elections office and apply in person for an absentee ballot. You may also vote and turn in your ballot at the same time. This process can be the most simple and it omits the [Photo by Gatewood]
