  • 7718 WCU PD - Arrest - Following an. investigation a student turned herself in and was arrested for two counts of obtaining money/property by using false pretenses. 7/21 Central Hall - Suspicious odor - An officer checking for a suspicious odor issued judicial affairs referrals to five Students for underage possession of alcohol. 7/22 Central Drive- Drunk Driver - An officer Stopped a vehicle operator who was driving reckless. The driver, a non- student was arrested for driving while impaired, driving while consuming alcohol, and for not having a drivers license. 7/23 Hunter Library - Unauthorized use of a golf cart - An employee with IT Services reported that sometime over the weekend one of their golf carts had been moved without their permission. Reid Gym - Vandalism - An officer was requested regarding the glass being broken out of a display case. Officers were advised that a student became angry about some incidences during a basketball game and that he hit the glass and injured himself. Officers met with the student at the hospital and the student admitted to breaking the glass. A judicial affairs referral was issued. 7/25 Village 800 bid. - Vandalism - A student requested an officer. The student reported that a wooden crest had removed from the hallway and torn into. Part of the crest was found outside the front door and part of it was still missing. 7127 | Hunter Library - Larceny - IT Services reported that somebody had stolen the R.A.M. sticks from a state owned computer sometime between 07/26 at 09:00 and 07/27 at 13:00. 07/28 Football Stadium - Larceny and Damage to Property - A visiting coach reported that between 18:00 on 10:10 on 07/29 somebody had accessed and used a golf cart without authorization. The golf cart was damaged and the keys were stolen from the cart. 7/30 Central Hall - Noise Complaint/Alcohol Violation - While responding to a complaint of noise an officer issued Judicial Affairs Referrals to three students who were underage and possessed alcohol. One student who was over 21 was issued a referral for aiding and abetting underage possession of alcohol. 8/2 Walker - Stuck elevator - WCU officers checked on students who were inside an elevator that was stuck. Officers requested Facilities Management to get the elevator open and let the people out. Reid Gym - Larceny - Four students with the Soccer Camp reported that their gym bags and belongings were Stolen from the second floor outside of the gym doors. 8/3 Campus - Fraud - A WCU officer completed an investigation regarding obtaining property by using false pretenses. Aformer WCU student was cleared of any criminal charges. 8/6 FPAC - Larceny - An employee in the art department reported that a projector was stolen sometime in April 2007 and a laptop was stolen a couple of weeks ago. Scott Hall - Larceny - Two students reported that their computers were stolen from their room on the 6th floor of Scott. 8/7 Off-Campus - Traffic Crash - Jackson County Dispatch advised the WCU Police Telecommunicate that a WCU student had been injured and they needed assistance in contacting a family member. Proper personnel was contacted to assist. 8/8 Off Campus - Traffic Crash/Assist other Department - Officers and the fire department secured a helicopter landing zone on University property. One injured person was transported by an EMS vehicle to campus and then transferred to the helicopter. The medical helicopter (MAMA) transported the patient to a hospital. ee 4 : a } x q K
